Our Treatment Categories
- A Caesarean section is a surgical procedure used to deliver a baby through incisions in the abdomen and uterus. At Astha Multispeciality Hospital, our Infertility Specialist in Sirsa works closely with experienced obstetricians to ensure safe deliveries, especially in complex or high-risk pregnancies where C-sections may be required.
- Dilation and curettage is a procedure to remove tissue from the inside of the uterus. It involves dilating (opening) the cervix and then using a curette (a spoon-shaped instrument) or suction to remove the uterine lining or other tissue. At Astha Multispeciality Hospital, our Infertility Specialist in Sirsa performs this procedure for diagnosing and treating abnormal uterine bleeding, removing tissue after miscarriage or abortion, or taking a biopsy.
- Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus. It is a common gynecological surgery performed for various reasons, including uterine fibroids, endometriosis, uterine prolapse, abnormal uterine bleeding, and certain types of cancer. It can be performed abdominally, vaginally, or laparoscopically.
- Tubal ligation, also known as "tying the tubes" or female sterilization, is a surgical procedure that permanently prevents pregnancy. It involves blocking or cutting the fallopian tubes, which carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus.
- Ovarian cystectomy is the surgical removal of a cyst from the ovary. Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can develop on or within the ovaries. Most are benign, but some may require removal due to size, pain, or suspicion of malignancy. This can be done with open or laparoscopic surgery.
- Myomectomy is a surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids (also known as leiomyomas), which are noncancerous growths that develop in or on the uterus. Unlike a hysterectomy, myomectomy removes only the fibroids, leaving the uterus intact. It is often performed in women who wish to preserve their fertility. It can be done through various approaches, including open surgery, laparoscopy, or hysteroscopy.
- In gynecology, diagnostic laparoscopy is used to visualize the pelvic organs (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes) and the inside of the abdomen. It helps diagnose conditions like endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, and unexplained pelvic pain. Small incisions are made in the abdomen to insert a laparoscope with a camera.
- Colposcopy is a procedure to examine the cervix, vagina, and vulva for signs of disease. It is often performed when a Pap test result is abnormal. A colposcope, a magnifying instrument, is used to get a closer look at the tissues. Biopsies may be taken during the procedure.
- Endometrial ablation is a procedure to remove or destroy the uterine lining (endometrium). It is typically performed to treat abnormal uterine bleeding, especially heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding. Various techniques can be used, including heat, cold, or radiofrequency energy.
- Bartholin glands are two small glands located on each side of the vaginal opening. They produce fluid that lubricates the vagina. A Bartholin cyst forms when the duct of one of these glands becomes blocked, causing fluid to back up. If the cyst becomes infected, it can form an abscess. Removal or drainage of the cyst or abscess may be necessary.
